Nigerians have taken to social media to call on the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government to pay palliatives via BVN following the extension of the coronavirus lockdown in some states.
KanyiDaily recalls that President Buhari had during a national broadcast on Monday extended the lockdown in Lagos, Ogun and Abuja by another 14 days.
Buhari said that the decision was taken in order to curtail the spread of coronavirus disease in the country.
Following the extension, some Nigerians took to their social media pages, asking that each person should receive at least N20,000 from all the billion naira donations.
I've never seen a government more fraudulent and shameless as the FG of Nigeria.
How can you lockdown 3 states and be sharing money in states that aren't on lockdown?
Why embezzle at every chance y'all get???
Nigerians are having hard times for crying out loud!#payusviaBVN

BVN is basically to address identity theft. According to NISS, 38.5 million accounts has BVN identity as at 2019 which means there’s a database… If Namibia is said to pay their citizens ‘reliefs’ for COVID19 through their bank accounts, why can’t the Nigerian govt #PayusviaBVN?

You think Buhari's government does not know that paying via bvn is the easiest and most transparent way they can pay us? They know. Their only problem is that with this method, adequate accounts can be kept about their expenses and they won't be able to steal much. #payusviaBVN

Government introduced a Cashless policy and also initiated Verification of account number through BVN to curb criminality and corruption, but now,the govt av decided that paying through BVN is too transparent for them.

Well, paying the palliatives via BVN is the simplest and transparent way of serving all citizens who owns a bank account but the question is that most vulnerable families who need the support most are unbanked, how would the palliatives reach them? #payusviaBVN

All of a sudden, our BVN is becoming obsolete to the Govt but na lie una dey lie. This is the reason why you pushed us to have BVN but you didn’t know it. So now the times has come for its usefulness #payusviaBVN
