An official of the Hisbah, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Basiru and his accomplice, one Jamilu, now at large, carried out their ungodly activities at an apartment in Rumawa area.
He said community members in Rumawa raised the alarm about their activities which led to the arrest of Basiru and a teenage female victim (name withheld), whose relatives had earlier declared her missing.
A guardian of the victim, Usman Ahmad, said his daughter suddenly went missing but was later found in the custody of the suspect.
“They (Basiru and Jamilu) built the house in Rumawa area and use it for sexual exploitation of underage girls and other victims.
“My daughter went missing for two days but was later found in the apartment of the constabulary. Basiru was arrested and his friend Jamilu, who is the owner of the house, is now at large,” Ahmad said.
It was, however, gathered that the matter had been transferred to a police station in the neighborhood for further investigation.
