Shehu Sani, Aisha Yesufu Condemns Nnamdi Kanu’s Attack On Herdsmen, Killing Of Cows

Shehu Sani and Aisha Yesufu has condemned the attack on Fulani herdsmen and their cattle in Abia State.

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has come under heavy fire after he shared a video of his security outfit, Eastern Security Network (ESN), attacking Fulani herdsmen in Isiukwuato community of Abia State.

KanyiDaily had earlier reported that Nnamdi Kanu posted a video on his Facebook page, where members of the ESN were seen attacking herdsmen in their enclave, chasing them away, burning their houses, and killing their cows in the process.

Reacting to the video, a former Senator representing Kaduna Central senatorial district, Shehu Sani condemned “the unprovoked attacks on the Fulani cattle rearers and their cattle in Abia”

He also called on the federal government and Northern states to set up a ranching program that would resettle herdsmen in the North.

“The unprovoked attacks on the Fulani cattle rearers and their cattle in Abia State is unreservedly a condemnable act.

“No group of individuals should be allowed to take the laws into their hands for the sake of peace, unity and stability of the country.

“The Federal Government and the Northern states must step up action and commence the grazing or ranching programs that will resettle the herdsmen and their cattle in the north, ” Sani said.

Aisha Yesufu, a Nigerian activist and co-convener of Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG), also described the situation as highly unacceptable, warning that no one has a monopoly of violence.

“This is absolutely not acceptable. We cannot have security outfits taking laws into their hands & maiming, killing & destroying properties. This is not acceptable.

“We must always remember no one has a monopoly of violence and intolerance and we can all be mad. Let the law guide us!” She tweeted.

KanyiDaily recalls that Nnamdi Kanu had in December 2020 launched ESN to protect the people of South-East and South-South from banditry and attacks from Fulani herdsmen.
