Nollywood actor, Moses Armstrong has returned to the movie set despite being suspended by the Actor’s Guild of Nigeria (AGN) for allegedly rαping a minor.
Moses Armstrong Shoots New Movie Amid AGN Ban
KanyiDaily recalls that the AGN suspended the actor after he was arrested in June for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl about three years ago in Akwa Ibom State.
While in detention, the AGN had issued a statement saying that Armstrong will remain suspended pending when the police round up the investigation on the matter.
On August 10, Akwa Ibom Government charged Armstrong with rape, intimidation, conspiracy, and supplying of drugs or instruments to procure abortion.
The actor, who pleaded not guilty to all the charges leveled against him, was recently granted bail in the sum of N5 million by the court. He was released from prison after perfecting his bail conditions.
A few days after his release, Armstrong took to his Facebook page to share photos of himself at a location in Akwa Ibom shooting a new movie titled ‘A Walk Away’.
The movie which was directed by John Henry and produced by Imaobong Udoh also features the likes of his fellow actor, Ime Bishop Umoh, aka Okon Lagos.
Sharing photos of himself at the movie location, Armstrong who defied his suspension by the AGN, wrote: “My First Movie Set After My Incarceration. #BackStrongerBetterAndLouder…. #AWalkAway… The Movie. Director… John Henry Offixial.Producer…. #ImaobongUdoh.”
The development comes a few days after Moses Armstrong said that he has “never raped” anyone before, adding that he was happy he went to prison because “God went with me”.
