Police Arrest Telecommunication Mast Vandal, Recover 12 Solar Batteries

The Lagos State Police Command, says it has arrested one Emmanuel Aaron, aged 35, for vandalizing a telecommunication mast in Isolo area of Meiran.

Spokesman of the Command, Benjamen Hundeyin disclosed this in a statement posted on the twitter handle of the state police command on Sunday, August 21.

According to the statement, the suspect was arrested by operatives of Meiran division of the Lagos State Police Command on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at about 3:05 am after the command recieved a distress call about the presence of vandals at the mast.

The statement also discsloed that the suspect was apprehended in possession of with twelve (12) solar batteries already loaded in their operational bus, a Ford with registration number FKJ 519 YF.

It noted that the other conspirators (still at large) took to their heels when they sighted policemen.

Investigation, the statement said, has commenced to arrest the fleeing suspects, adding that they will all be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.

“Operatives of Meiran division of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested one Emmanuel Aaron ‘m’ aged 35 for vandalizing a telecommunication mast in Isoto area of Meiran, the statement reads.

“The suspect, who was arrested on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at about 3:05 am in response to a distress call about the presence of vandals at the mast, was found with twelve solar batteries already loaded in their operational bus, a Ford with registration number FKJ 519 YF.

“His conspirators (still at large) took to their heels upon sighting the policemen. Investigation is ongoing to arrest fleeing conspirators. Suspects would be arraigned at the conclusion of investigations.

“The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, fdc commends residents of Lagos State for always promptly alerting the authorities to suspicious person/happenings, assuring them that the Command would not relent in its resolve to continually make the state safe for everyone.”

In other news, Kanyi Daily had reported that the Lagos police command had said police will never beg people to obey laws.

According to him, the law must be enforced by the police.
