Director of broadcast monitoring of NBC, Francisca Aiyetan, who stated this in a statement, said the directive is to ensure the media enables a credible electoral process.

According to NBC, media houses should also refrain from using votes obtained at a polling station, or from exit polls, to project or speculate on the chances of a candidate.

In line with the Nigeria Broadcasting Code, the commission ordered all broadcast media houses to end all partisan political programmes and advertisements by Thursday.
