Protest Rocks Osun State Polytechnic As Gov Ademola Adeleke Suspends Rector, Tajudeen Odetayo

Following the suspension of the Rector of the Osun State Polytechnic, Dr Tajudeen Odetayo by Governor Ademola Adeleke, the Iree chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic on Tuesday, protested the action.

Governor Adeleke suspended Odetayo from office over allegations of corruption.

This was revealed in a statement signed by M.A.K Jimoh, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education.

In a video circulating on social media, the protesters could be seen chanting solidarity songs as the exercise has crippled activities on the campus.

Reports say the protesting staff barricaded the main campus entrance in iree which left the students writing exams stranded.

However, Adeleke has chosen Alabi Kehinde Adeyemi to act as the Rector pending the investigation period.

In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that troops of the Nigerian Army on Sunday, July 23, 2023, raided camps of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Anambra State, and arrested nine suspected criminals.

The troops also recovered weapons during the “clearance operations.”
