Soldiers Uncover Fuel Station Supplying Jerrycans Of Fuel To Boko Haram In Maiduguri

Nigerian Soldiers from Operation Hadin Kai have uncovered a major fuel smuggling operation in Maiduguri, Borno State.

It was gathered that the suspects supply fuel to Boko Haram terrorists operating around Gwoza and across the border into Cameroon.

The troops raided Hadiza and Sadiq Filling Station, where workers were openly loading hundreds of jerrycans with fuel—reportedly over 500 of them.

Authorities described the act as a deliberate and dangerous attempt to support enemies of the Nigerian state.

Security sources told analyst Zagazola Makama that the military had been monitoring fuel dealers suspected of selling petrol on the black market.

These dealers were using cars modified with secret tanks to transport large amounts of fuel to unknown locations.

Once transported, the fuel would be poured into jerrycans and smuggled into areas controlled by terrorists. But this time, the smugglers were caught in the middle of their operation.

Soldiers moved in quickly, arresting several individuals on the spot. During questioning, the suspects admitted they were moving the fuel toward Pulka and parts of Cameroon, where terrorists linked to the Ali Ngulde faction are known to operate.

However, the suspects claimed they didn’t know exactly who the fuel was going to. They said people from “various places” would come to collect the fuel once it reached its destination.
