Igbos Can Move Nigeria Out Of Economic Challenges, But They’re Not Treated Fairly – Peter Obi

Peter Obi said the south-east has some of the best hands to pull Nigeria out economic challenges.

The vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi has lamented that the South East has not been treated fairly like every other region in Nigeria.

Peter Obi stated this while reacting to the possibility of the South East producing Nigeria’s president in 2023, on Arise News Morning TV show.

According to him, the South East has some of the best people capable of moving Nigeria away from economic challenges, but they’ve not been treated fairly by the country, especially owing to a flawed electoral process that would not allow capable people to emerge in the leadership of Nigeria.

“It is only fair that you treat every part of the nation fairly and equally. Are Igbos being treated fairly?

“The answer is no…For me, I believe we should restructure this country in such a way that every part of the country would be competitive and we would get the best out of our resources,” he said.

Meanwhile, Senator Rochas Okorocha has given what he described as two reasons why the Igbo people failed woefully in Nigeria politics.

According to him, one of the reasons was that the Igbo people failed to accept the light coming to them. Secondly, Igbos did not appreciate the person who came to assist them.
