COVID-19 Lockdown: "Pay Us Via BVN" - Nigerians Tells President Buhari 1

Nigerians have taken to social media to call on the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government to pay palliatives via BVN following the extension of the coronavirus lockdown in some states.

KanyiDaily recalls that President Buhari had during a national broadcast on Monday extended the lockdown in Lagos, Ogun and Abuja by another 14 days.

Buhari said that the decision was taken in order to curtail the spread of coronavirus disease in the country.

Following the extension, some Nigerians took to their social media pages, asking that each person should receive at least N20,000 from all the billion naira donations.

I've never seen a government more fraudulent and shameless as the FG of Nigeria.

How can you lockdown 3 states and be sharing money in states that aren't on lockdown?

Why embezzle at every chance y'all get???

Nigerians are having hard times for crying out loud!#payusviaBVN

BVN is basically to address identity theft. According to NISS, 38.5 million accounts has BVN identity as at 2019 which means there’s a database… If Namibia is said to pay their citizens ‘reliefs’ for COVID19 through their bank accounts, why can’t the Nigerian govt #PayusviaBVN?

Namibia government has started transferring money to it's citizens bank accounts & every other means employable..

We have the money, resources and a good amount of donations.. we can't go another 14 days in emptiness !#payusviaBVN #payusviaBVN #payusviaBVN #payusviaBVN

Please raise your hand, if you agree that President Buhari should pay Nigerians after Another 14 days of lockdown has been added #payusviaBVN pic.twitter.com/7khl4odlqj

You think Buhari's government does not know that paying via bvn is the easiest and most transparent way they can pay us? They know. Their only problem is that with this method, adequate accounts can be kept about their expenses and they won't be able to steal much. #payusviaBVN

We no longer have money. We no longer have food. We can’t be at home and eat nothing. Pay us via BVN or else hunger will kill us before coronavirus! @MBuhari #payusviaBVN #payusviaBVN #payusviaBVN #payusviaBVN

— BeksFCB (@Joshua__Ubeku) April 13, 2020

Government introduced a Cashless policy and also initiated Verification of account number through BVN to curb criminality and corruption, but now,the govt av decided that paying through BVN is too transparent for them.
Dear sinzu #PayusviaBVN

— DEMAGOGUE PhD.💘senior advocat (@von_Bismack) April 13, 2020

You want us to maintain social distance & stay safe off the pandemic, understandable! But not for another 14 days with no source of income

NCDC having our number means the govt can get to us, our welfare is vital & BVN is a good means#payusviaBVN #payusviaBVN #payusviaBVN

— YH (@Yemihazan) April 13, 2020

Many have families to feed and many they depend on, if you must extend the lockdown make us of the BVN to aid survival. @MBuhari#payusviaBVN #payusviaBVN #payusviaBVN #payusviaBVN #payusviaBVN

— YH (@Yemihazan) April 13, 2020

We are tired of randomly trying out our luck under giveaway posts because the economy has been crippled due to the lockdown… 14 more long days pay attention to our welfare! #payusviaBVN #payusviaBVN #payusviaBVN #payusviaBVN

Well, paying the palliatives via BVN is the simplest and transparent way of serving all citizens who owns a bank account but the question is that most vulnerable families who need the support most are unbanked, how would the palliatives reach them? #payusviaBVN

All of a sudden, our BVN is becoming obsolete to the Govt but na lie una dey lie. This is the reason why you pushed us to have BVN but you didn’t know it. So now the times has come for its usefulness #payusviaBVN

— Femi(Not Otedola) (@just_mmoney) April 13, 2020

They can spend money during election, but can't provide for citizens in this difficult time #payusviaBVN
