Boko Haram terrorists have clamed responsibility for the abduction of two soldiers and Yobe Liaison officer that were kidnaped on Damaturu/Maiduguri highway on Saturday.
The terrorists released the pictures and identity cards of their victims who were all abducted while travelling in a commercial vehicle on Saturday evening.
Two of the ID cards displayed by the insurgents belong to Mai Lalle, one for Mustapha while the other belongs to Lpcl Oyediran Adedotun of the Nigeria Army.
The ID card of the fourth abductee Bello Abubakar of the Nigerian Army was not displayed by the terrorists. The card was earlier found in the vehicle where the soldiers were kidnapped.
It was gathered that all the four victims were abducted on a commercial bus on Saturday evening along Maiduguri/Damaturu highway.
While Mai Lalle and Mustapaha were travelling to Maiduguri, the two Army personnel were however traveling to Kano after obtaining pass to do so.
The Nation quoted a security source saying the driver of the vehicle has been arrested by soldiers of 29 Task Force after other passengers suspected foul play from him.
“Yes, I can confirm that two of our guys were kidnapped by Boko Haram on Saturday evening, one corporal and a private soldiers. They were traveling on pass when the incident happened before Jakana after Mainok on Maiduguri road,” the source informed.
The source also regretted how abduction of people Maiduguri/Damaturu road has become a daily occurrence.
“This road is now becoming dangerous every passing day. There is no day that these bad boys will not come out and kidnap people,” the source added.
