Reno Omokri Advises PDP Over Wike

Omokri stated this in a tweet on his official handle on Wednesday.

According to him, if despite all efforts, Wike endorses outside the party, the PDP should extend a right hand of fellowship to Rotimi Amaechi, the former governor of the Rovers state and a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Amaechi and Wike are political enemies.

Omokri argued that PDP created Amaechi and as such he can not coexists with Wike.

He wrote, “My dear Peoples Democratic Party,

“Let us do all we can to keep Wike in the PDP. But if, despite our best efforts, he endorses outside the party, let us extend a right hand of fellowship to Rotimi Amaechi.

“PDP created Amaechi. And we know he can’t coexist with Wike.”

Omokri’s advice comes a few days after the Rivers governor said he will announce his preferred presidential aspirant in January 2023.

Wike has not been on good terms with the leadership of the PDP, particularly its National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, over the latter’s refusal to resign from the position.

Wike has also been having a running battle with the presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar over Ayu’s refusal to step aside, insisting that northerners cannot occupy both positions.

Atiku hails from Adamawa – North East while Ayu comes from Benue – North Central.

With the official commencement of campaigns for the 2023 elections, the PDP in late September unveiled a 600-member campaign council headed by the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel.

Wike and other aggrieved PDP governors said they would not work for the presidential candidate of the party for some reasons.

The five governors have not hidden their position and they had vowed not to work for Atiku except for Ayu to step down from office for a southerner to occupy the position.

The five governors are Wike, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Samuel Ortom, Okezie Ikpeazu, and Seyi Makinde of Rivers, Enugu, Benue, Abia, and Oyo states respectively.

Atiku and his supporters have been seen at rallies in Bauchi, Kaduna, Akwa Ibom, and a few places.

Wike, since he lost the PDP presidential ticket to Atiku at the party’s primary in May, has for months demanded Ayu’s resignation over what he termed “injustice” to southerners.
