Magistrate P.O Adetuyibi ordered Trinity Guy, 31, Isiaka Ahmed, 40, and his wife Rofiat Ahmed, 29, parents of the child, to continue to be remanded in Agodi.

Recall that on June 26, prosecution counsel, Inspector, Oluwakemi Arowosaye told the court that the skit maker, alongside the parents of the victim, allegedly conspired together to commit sexual abuse.

Arowosaye said ‘Trinity Guy” on December 17, 2022, was alleged to have sexually abused and sexually exploited a 10-year-old girl in Kuala area, Ibadan.

The offense, the police said, contravened the provisions of Section 35 (1) and was punishable under Section 35 (2) of the Oyo State Child Rights Law 2006.

She said it also contravenes the provisions of section 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

They were then remanded to Agodi correctional facility and the case was adjourned until July 11 when it would come up for mention.

When the case came up on Tuesday, Adetuyibi adjourned the matter until Aug. 3, for mention.

Recall that the Oyo State Police Command had invited Trinity Guy in connection with a prank video that involved the 10-year-old girl.

“Popular content creator, Abdullahi Maruf Adisa, AKA Trinity, has been contacted and invited to the Oyo State Police Command in connection with the disturbing viral skit content making the rounds across the Social Media space concerning a female minor. Updates would be provided soon,” the command said in a tweet.

Trinity Guy had caught the attention of the Spokesman of the Nigerian Police, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who requested his arrest over a recent prank video where he scared passersby with ‘gunshots’

In that particular skit, Trinity Guy feigned he was under attack from gunmen.

Unaware it was a prank, passers-by were seen scampering for safety from the supposed attack.

The video generated outrage on social media, with many people calling out the comedian for the “extreme prank”.

In the prank involving the female minor, the skit maker was seen asking a visibly scared little girl to tell him the colour of his private part.

The video drew massive condemnation on social media.

Retweeting the video, Adejobi called for the arrest of Trinity Guy, saying he should be detained and charged in court.

The force image maker had previously warned skit makers who use pranks for a living to regulate them because they endanger Nigerian lives.

In the heat of the developments, Trinity Guy spoke up on the demand for his arrest by Adejobi.

In a new video posted on Facebook, the skit maker expressed gratitude to his followers and also appreciated Adejobi for his fatherly role in calling pranksters who go overboard with their craft to order.

According to reports, this is not the first time a Nigerian skit maker has gotten into trouble over an extreme or life-threatening prank. In August 2022, Eyinatayo Iluyomade, a 19-year-old Lagos-based comedian, was arrested and charged to court for an expensive joke.

In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that the Rivers State Police Command on Tuesday said it has arrested the officers captured in a viral video assaulting a man in the Oyigbo Area of the State.
