Al Ittihad may make a second offer for Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah before the Saudi Pro League window expires on Thursday.
Senior club officials believe they should wait until next summer, while others believe it is worthwhile to make one more attempt to get Salah.
The SPL, through chief executive Saad Al Lazeez and director of football Michael Emenalo, would have to approve any new bid first.
On Thursday, Liverpool rejected a verbal bid from Al Ittihad for up to £150 million for Salah.
“I never had any doubts about his commitment to this club,” Reds manager Jurgen Klopp stated following their 3-0 victory against Aston Villa on Sunday. You have no idea how much commotion the world has caused, yet how calm we are in the face of it. He is one of our players, and he wants to play for us.”
The SPL window shuts on Thursday at 10 p.m. UK time.
