A source disclosed that the presidential panel requested the suspension of the 12 EFCC directors to enable it carry out a thorough investigation into the activities of the commission, without undue interference.

However, TheCable understands that some of the directors affected by the action have been involved in investigating Malami.

KanyiDaily recalled three days ago, Magu had asked the Presidential Panel to investigate the alleged sale of recovered assets by AGF Malami.

It was alleged that Malami reportedly granted two separate approvals to an auctioneer to conduct an open bid for sale of crude oil and diesel as well as five vessels forfeited by illegal bunkering operators to the government.
