“Goodluck Jonathan Is Now A Progressive Person, He Works For Us” – APC Slams PDP

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has slammed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for not being a worthy opposition saying the former President, Goodluck Jonathan, is a “progressive person” who now works for the ruling party.

APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena, stated this while featuring on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme on Friday, November 27, 2020.

He was reacting to a statement credited to the PDP that the ruling party was ‘desperate’ which was why APC chieftains visted Jonathan, who contested in the 2011 and 2015 presidential elections on the platform of the PDP, on his 63rd birthday.

Nebena said his party is not desperate, adding that Jonathan has been working for the ruling party and the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari because he is a ‘progressive’ statesman.

“We are not desperate. Goodluck Jonathan has been working for this government, he has been going to all African countries. If he is not a progressive person, he won’t have been working for this government,” he said.

“We agree that there has been issues of insecurity in Nigeria. These things have been there before. We are working on it. It’s not a day job. We are working so hard to correct that. What political parties like PDP do is to destabilise your government because they want to come back to power by any means. #EndSARS is the work of the PDP.”

KanyiDaily recalls that Goodluck Jonathan was alleged to be facing suspension from the PDP over his alleged romance with the APC which contributed to the defeat of his party in last Saturday’s governorship election in Bayelsa State.
