The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has taken popular socialite Emeka Okonkwo, better known as E-Money, into custody over accusations of mishandling currency.

According to Vanguard, sources say EFCC officers arrested E-Money at his Lagos home on Monday night.
He is being investigated for spraying dollar bills at a party—an act that violates Nigeria’s laws against currency abuse.
Authorities have moved E-Money to Abuja for questioning and plan to take him to court once their investigation wraps up.
The incident reportedly happened at a Lagos social gathering, though further details about the event are still unclear.
While the EFCC’s spokesperson did not give an official statement, insiders confirmed the arrest and ongoing probe.
This case follows recent crackdowns on naira abuse, including the high-profile arrest of cross-dresser Bobrisky earlier this year.
KanyiDaily recalls that Subomi and Wahab Okoya, sons of Nigerian billionaire industrialist Razaq Okoya, were recently summoned by the EFCC over allegations of naira abuse.
