$158 Million Lottery Winner Turns Up In Mask To Avoid Being Recognised By Money-Thirsty Relatives [Photos]

A Jamaican man identified only as A. Campbell, who won huge money in lottery sought every possible means to avoid being recognized by relatives who might be interested in the jackpot, so decided to wear a mask to claim his prize.

First of all, instead of joyously going to the nation’s Super Lotto with alacrity to claim his $158.4 million ($1.17 million US) prize, the Campbell chose to wait for 54 days.

He reportedly won the lottery in November last year, but he pretended as if nothing happened until now.

As if that was not enough, when he finally decided to go for his money, Campbell wore a mask, all in a bid to dodge his relatives.

Asked how his win came about, Campbell is quoted as saying:

“Normally, I would write down the numbers from the [televised] draw, eat and then go and check my numbers.

“I looked at my ticket [that night] and ran into my bathroom and said: ‘I won! I won!’

Asked what he would use the huge lottery money for, he said:?

“I want to get a nice house. I haven’t found it yet, but I’ll be looking for one soon. I like to handle money. I don’t beg, I don’t borrow.

“So I’m looking at things that can turn over the money. I have a little business, so I plan to make it bigger, buy an apartment. I love to have money.”

Avoiding his relatives who would pester him for help was not the only reason why Campell wore mask, he was also trying to disguise his identity because of the high levels of crime in Jamaica.
