BREAKING: APC’s Hyacinth Alia Defeats Ortom’s Candidate, Uba, Wins Benue Guber Poll

Hyacinth Alia polled a total of 473,933 votes to defeat his closest rival and incumbent speaker of the state House of Assembly, Titus Uba of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has won the March 18th governorship election in the state.

Hyacinth Alia polled a total of 473,933 votes to defeat his closest rival and incumbent speaker of the state House of Assembly, Titus Uba of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Uba is the anointed candidate of Governor Samuel Ortom, who himself lost his Benue North West senatorial bid in the February 25th presidential and national assembly elections.

Herman Hembe of the Labour Party (LP) scored 41,881 votes.

Meanwhile, Kanyi Daily reported that the senator representing Enugu East Senatorial District, Chimaroke Nnamani, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after he lost his bid to return to the Senate.

Kelvin Chukwu.
