“81 In Lagos, 21 In Rivers” – Nigeria Confirms 153 New Coronavirus Cases As Total Hits To 59,001

Nigeria is heading towards 60,000 confirmed Covid-19 cases.

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 153 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 59,001.

The NCDC made this known on Thursday night via its Twitter handle, where it disclosed that the new cases are recorded in 13 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The states with new Covid-19 cases include Lagos-81; Rivers-21; FCT-11; Ogun-8; Kaduna-7; Oyo-6; Akwa Ibom-5; Osun and Katsina-3 each; Edo, Ebonyi and Nasarawa-2 each; Plateau and Kano-1 each.

The health centre further revealed that 50,452 patients have successfully been treated and discharged across the country, while 1,112 deaths have been recorded so far.

“On the 1st of October 2020, 153 new confirmed cases were recorded in Nigeria,” NCDC said.

The 153 new cases are reported from 14 states- Lagos (81), Rivers (21), FCT (11), Ogun (8), Kaduna (7), Oyo (6), Akwa Ibom (5), Osun (3), Katsina (3), Edo (2), Ebonyi (2), Nasarawa (2), Plateau (1), Kano (1).

“Till date, 59001 cases have been confirmed, 50452 cases have been discharged and 1112 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.”
