A former head of Police Response Unit, Yomi Shogunle, and former Lagos PPRO, Dolapo Badmus, are among the 37 officers penalized by the Nigerian Police Force following Nigerian youths protests against the extrajudicial activities of the now-disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
KanyiDaily had reported that 37 former members of the disbanded SARS police unit have been listed for dismissal, while 24 other will be prosecuted for professional misconduct.
In a series of tweets on Saturday, October 17, 2020, a member of President Muhammadu Buhari’s media team, Ayo Akanji, released the names and service numbers of the dismissed, reprimanded & demoted officers.
Abayomi Shogunle and Dolapo Badmus are among the reprimanded and demoted police officers.
