South Korean actress, Kim Sae-ron has died at the age of 24, police have confirmed.
The actress, known for her role in the Netflix series “Bloodhounds”, was found unresponsive at her home by a friend who immediately contacted authorities on Sunday.
Police have stated that there are no signs of foul play at this time, but they are investigating the circumstances surrounding her passing.
Kim Sae-ron was once considered one of South Korea’s brightest young talents. She began her career as a child actress, making her debut at just nine years old.
She gained recognition for her performances in “A Brand New Life” (2009) and “The Man From Nowhere” (2010), which established her as a rising star.
As she transitioned into adult roles, she starred in the 2016 drama “Secret Healer” and the 2018 thriller “The Villagers”.
Kim’s most recent performance was in “Bloodhounds”, which premiered on Netflix in 2023.
The actress’ career faced a major setback in 2022 after she was caught driving under the influence.
She crashed her car into a guardrail and a transformer, leading to a fine of 20 million won ($13,850).
The incident damaged her reputation, and although she attempted a return to acting in 2023, she withdrew from a play due to health concerns.
Following the news of her passing, fans have flooded social media with tributes, mourning the loss of the young actress.
